EasyRM Repository 1.06 Release February 2002

The EasyRM Repository is a core component of the EasyRM suite. Its presence is mandatory in order for any other EasyRM components to operate properly.

The EasyRM Repository does not present any user interface of its own. Instead, it provides various services utilized by other, higher-level, EasyRM components. These services include:

  • EasyRM database access services, which allow other EasyRM components to query and modify EasyRM models.
  • Database cloning and locking services.
  • Centralized storage for EasyRM license keys.
  • The backbone of EasyRM component architecture.

Demo vs. Full operation mode

The EasyRM Repository operates in Demo mode until you acquire and enter a valid license key for it. In this mode, the EasyRM Repository does not allow you to create more than 10 model elements of any specific type (i.e. you will not be able to create more than 10 glossary terms, requirements, documents, etc.).

To acquire and enter a valid license key for the EasyRM Repository:

  1. Visit the Shop section of this web site to purchase a license key for the EasyRM Repository 1.06. If you want to use the EasyRM Repository on more than one computer, you will need to purchase a corresponding number of license keys for it.
  2. Start the EasyRM License Manager. If necessary, you may need to download and install the EasyRM License Manager first.
  3. Use the EasyRM License Manager to enter your CustomerID (you will be issued one automatically) and the EasyRM Repository 1.06 license key.

After having completed the procedure specified above, the EasyRM Repository will switch to the Full mode, in which its full functionality is available.

IMPORTANT: If you have purchased and installed a valid license key for the EasyRM Repository but have not purchased and installed a valid license key for (for exaple) the EasyRM Document Manager, then you will still not be able to create more than 10 documents per model - although the EasyRM Repository will allow you to do so, the EasyRM Document Manager, which operates in Demo mode without a proper license key, will then impose the limit. The same applies to the EasyRM Glossary with respect to the creation of glossary terms/chapters, or to the EasyRM Requirement Manager with respect to the creation of requirements and requirement classifiers.
